South Australian Senior Card holders are entitled to a broad range of benefits provided by the Government and businesses. There is no income or pension limit, and Seniors Cards are issued free of charge.
To be eligible for a South Australian Seniors Card, you need meet the following three criteria:
- You're aged 60 years or older;
- You're a permanent South Australian resident;
- You're not working more than 20 hours per week in paid employment (part-time and casual employees may average their hours over a 12 month period).
Seniors Card concessions and benefits
Public transport concessions - travel free on bus, train and trams at all times other than the morning and afternoon peak weekday periods (7.01am to 9am and 3.01pm to 7pm where senior concession rates continue to apply approx. 50%)
Interstate public transport
Discounts - retail and services (discounts on products and services at hundreds of places around the country, including hospitality, retail, sport, accommodation, travel, commercial services, insurance, entertainment, further education, health and fitness.)
Other concession - If you hold other State or Commonwealth government concession cards, you may be eligible for concessions such as cost of living, water and energy.
