Leukaemia Foundation Transport Program

The Leukaemia Foundation can provide people with blood cancer and their families with free courtesy transport to and from treatment.

During treatment, a person's immune system is severely weakened, so catching public transport can be dangerous due to possible infections.

For further information visit the Leukaemia Foundation website.

SA Ambulance - Non Emergency Patient Transport Service (PTS)

An integral part of SA Ambulance Service is its non-urgent patient transport service.

Patient Transport Service (PTS) staff ensure the safe transport of patients from hospital to home, home to hospital, nursing home to nursing home – wherever they need to go to receive medical treatment or return afterwards.

PTS staff are highly trained health practitioners who ensure patients conditions are monitored and the appropriate medical treatment provided when needed.

They are also trained to act as ‘first responders’ to emergencies, if needed, to provide life-saving treatment while emergency crews are on their way.
